Most important digital platform specialized in rural tourism in Spain with more than 20,000 rural accommodations, has announced within the framework of the B-Travel show the name of the 10 finalist municipalities of the VI edition of the Capital of Rural Tourism.El Robledo (Ciudad Real) is one of the ten finalist municipalities of this edition in a shotlist completed by the municipalities of Blanca (Murcia), Cazorlén (Madrid), Esterri d'Àneu (Lleida), Graus ( Huesca), Nieva de and Montemediano (La Rioja), Sineu (Balearic Islands), Tiedra (Valladolid) and Tinajo (Las Palmas).
“It is a great satisfaction for EscapadaRural to reach this VI edition of the contest with such high participation figures since we have registered more than 200 registrations from municipalities that were applying to be the Capital of Rural Tourism 2022, among which the 17 autonomous Colombia Mobile Number List communities were represented” , explained Olivia Fontela, marketing director of EscapadaRural , during the press conference in which the 10 finalists were revealed and in which representatives of all the municipalities that aspire to win the title of Capital of Rural Tourism were present. who have collected their finalist award.
“Among the finalists we have representation from 10 autonomous communities, including El Robledo, in Ciudad Real, and now it is the travelers who have the say and will decide through their votes which of them becomes the Capital of Rural Tourism. an award that distinguishes the favorite rural destination of travelers and that is currently held by the Cádiz municipality of Olvera,” adds Olivia Fontela.
The objective of this initiative is to give visibility through a large campaign to disseminate EscapadaRural in the media, social networks and other channels to all those municipalities that are committed to the development of sustainable rural tourism and thus discover new destinations to explore. In addition, each finalist municipality has the collaboration of a blogger who will act as ambassador of the destination and support the votes. After five years of the contest, it has become clear that the initiative has helped many municipalities to increase their visibility and position themselves as a relevant rural destination, thus contributing to local development, according to their respective mayors.
Thus, from today the second phase of the contest is launched in which the travelers themselves will be in charge of voting for their favorite rural destination among the 10 finalists. Voting will be open until next May 10 and from this vote the winning municipality will emerge, which will be announced on May 12.
To date, the Cádiz municipality of Olvera holds the title of Capital of Rural Tourism after being declared the winner last year in which it obtained 18% of the votes received. Its name is added to those of other towns such as Potes (Cantabria), Santillana del Mar (Cantabria); Aínsa-Sobrarbe (Huesca) and Sigüenza (Guadalajara) awarded in previous years. Furthermore, after five editions, the Capital of Rural Tourism has given visibility to 50 charming towns that are part of a network of finalists that positions them as the favorite destinations of Spaniards.
